Dr. Robert Font is a highly accomplished professional geologist with over 50 years of experience in the geological sciences. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Baylor University and his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in engineering geology and tectonophysics.

His career is distinguished by a diverse range of roles, including a tenured professorship at Baylor, a senior geologist and project supervisor at Conoco, Inc., and executive vice president at Strategic Petroleum, Inc.

He holds numerous prestigious certifications and titles, including “Certified Professional Geologist” by the AIPG and AAPG, “Registered Professional Geologist” in multiple states, and both “Chartered Geologist” and “Fellow” of the Geological Society of London. Dr. Font has been the recipient of several notable awards, such as the Martin Van Couvering Memorial Award and the Ben H. Parker Memorial Medal from the AIPG. He has also demonstrated strong leadership by serving as President of the Dallas Geological Society and as National President of the AIPG. Currently, he shares his vast knowledge by offering online courses and authoring a technical column in The Professional Geologist.
