INTEGRATED SEQUENCE STRATIGRAPHY

Our Multi-Data Approach

  1. We define Objectives and Gather Data:
    • Objective: Define the study goals (e.g. reservoir characterization, regional correlation, or prospect evaluation).

      – Seismic data (2D/3D).
      – Well logs (GR, SP, resistivity, porosity logs).

      – Identify progradational, retrogradational, and aggradational trends.
    • Facies interpretation:
      – Infer depositional environments from log and core data.
      – Correlate surfaces and systems tracts with seismic interpretation.
  5. Integration and Systems Tract Modeling:
    • Match seismic and well interpretations:
      – Confirm that seismic terminations align with lithologic/log patterns.
    • Identify and map:
      – Lowstand, Falling Stage, transgressive, and highstand systems tracts.
    • Construct stratigraphic cross sections:
      – Visualize lateral facies and systems tract changes.
  6.  Depositional Model and Paleogeographic Reconstruction:
    • Build conceptual models of sediment supply, accommodation, and relative sea-level change.
    • Map shoreline movements, shelf-edge trajectories, and depositional environments through time.
  7. Predictive Interpretation:
    • Reservoir, source, and seal prediction:
      – Link systems tracts to lithologies and diagenetic potential.
    • Prospectivity analysis:
      – Predict stratigraphic traps and reservoir distribution.
  8. Validation and Iteration:
    • Cross-check against:
      – Production data.
      – New wells or reinterpreted data.
      – Update interpretation as needed.
